The Town of Amsterdam offers weekly garbage and recycling collection. Collection days are Tuesday and Thursday of each week. Containers must be placed curbside the night before your scheduled collection. Requests for replacement containers can be requested by contacting the Town of Amsterdam at 518-842-7961. We offer a 35 gallon garbage can which holds 2-3, 13 gallon bags (singles), 65 Gallon garbage can which holds 4-5, 13 gallon bags (small families) and 95 Gallon garbage can which holds 7-8, 13 gallon bags (large families). The size and weight limit is embossed on the edge of the lid for your reference. If you need to make a replacement or request a can, please check the sizes on your can.
